2024 Exclusive Sneak Peek: Ladd McConkey, WR Georgia
Welcome to the Exclusive Sneak Peek: Ladd McConkey, a Wide Receiver from Georgia. He is from Chatsworth, Georgia, and was a 3-star recruit out of North Murray High School.
In 2021, as a freshman, McConkey established himself as a key piece of the Bulldog’s offense. He totaled 31 receptions for 447 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns in 15 games on his way to a solid season.
He followed his solid freshman season up with another solid year in 2022, where in 13 games he caught 51 receptions for 675 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns.
His junior season of 2023 saw his production revert to his freshman numbers as he only played in 8 games, recording 29 receptions for 461 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.

Strengths
- Is physical as a slot receiver and could excel in that role in the NFL.
- Excellent route running and ball tracking. Quick burst off the line of scrimmage.
- His special team abilities could allow him extra opportunities to stay in the lineup even in a crowded wide receiver room.

- Is agile and possesses great burst on the short to intermediate routes.
Weaknesses
- Struggles with physical corners due to his lack of size and mass.
- He needs to refine his technique as he transitions from the catch to running upfield.

- Athletic but lacks the quick twitch to gain separation consistently.
Pre-Draft Analysis
Expected Draft Capital: Mid 2nd Round
Ideal Landing Spot: Jacksonville Jaguars
Where McConkey will be selected is anyone’s guess. Some NFL Draft analysts have him going at the end of the first round, while others have him slipping to the fourth round, I believe the truth is somewhere in between.
McConkey seems primed to be a Day 2 pick, likely falling somewhere in the ranges of Pick 40-50. A prime spot for him would be 48th overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He looks to be a solid complementary piece that can operate in several different areas on the field. He won’t be a threat to overtake Calvin Ridley, or even Christian Kirk for that matter, but a WR3 spot on the Jaguar’s depth chart could provide him with plenty of opportunity to develop into a solid contributor, especially when Ridley eventually moves on from Jacksonville.
Post-Draft Analysis
Pick 2.34 to the Los Angeles Chargers
