IDP Waiver Wire (Week 3)

Welcome to IDP Waiver Wire (Week 3). This is where we highlight a few players at each position that we want to add this week. As for ownership percentages we will be using Sleeper. For our full weekly rankings list, head to The FFU Weekly Rankings Page or try out our Sit/Start Tool Powered by Fantasy Pros. The waiver lists are sorted by defensive position, each with separate tabs for ownership percentage.

Defensive Linemen

Deep League Options (0-5% rostered)

Will McDonald, Jets (0% rostered)

McDonald has gotten off to a solid start in 2024 with continued that in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans with four tackles, three sacks, and one fumble recovered. The three sacks were impressive and displayed an upside he hadn’t previously shown. The Jets are one of the most elite defensive units in the NFL and are a scary opponent for even the best of offenses. Look for McDonald to contribute upwards of five tackles per game, while chipping in with an additional sack or two. He is a solid DL2 streamer in IDP leagues.

Alex Wright, Browns (0% rostered), A’Shawn Robinson, Panthers (2% rostered), Solomon Thomas, Jets (0% rostered), Bryan Bresee, Saints (0% rostered), Kwity Paye, Colts (2% rostered).

Medium League Options (6-15% rostered)

Keion White, Patriots (10% rostered)

Have a day against the Patriots, Keion White! In truly impressive fashion, White put up seven tackles and 1.5 sacks against the Seattle Seahawks and was a disruptive force all game long. This Patriot’s defense is solid from top to bottom and with their offense being well below-average, they are going to get ample opportunities to produce every week. The sheer volume of plays that the Patriots will face on defense gives White an elite floor for fantasy production.

Carl Granderson, Saints (6% rostered), Leonard Williams, Seahawks (8% rostered), Dexter Lawrence, Giants (6% rostered), Nnamdi Madubuike, Ravens (10% rostered).

Shallow League Options (16-25% rostered)

Chauncey Golston, Cowboys (30% rostered)

Golston and the Cowboys got their butts kicked in Week 2 by a surprising New Orleans Saints squad. Despite this lopsided matchup, Golston still managed four tackles and one sack. Everything the Saints did on offense worked all game long and the Cowboys struggled mightily, but there are certain to be better days ahead for Golston and the Cowboys. This is a prime opportunity to pick up a solid IDP contributor at a bargain basement price after a terrible game by the team.

Josh Hines-Allen, Jaguars (27% rostered), Christian Wilkins, Raiders (19% rostered), Greg Rousseau, Bills (25% rostered).

Linebackers

Josey Jewell, Panthers (4% rostered)

The Panthers offense is terrible. Such a terrible offense made for an insane level of opportunities to produce for their defense. That opportunity resulted in an 11-tackle performance by Josey Jewell that also saw him chip in with a fumble recovery. This one is simple, Jewell is an elite linebacker who is going to be on the field for an insane number of plays each week. A combination like that makes Jewell a sleeper pick to get into the top-10 linebackers for IDP leagues.

Blake Cashman, Vikings (2% rostered), Micah McFadden, Giants (2% rostered), Jamien Sherwood, Jets (0% rostered), Shaq Thompson, Panthers (2% rostered).

Medium League Options (6-15% rostered)

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Browns (16% rostered)

Owusu-Koramoah was all over the field against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. He totaled seven tackles and was a force to be reckoned with for a struggling Jaguars offense. The Browns are not one of the best offenses in the NFL so they are going to need to win slow-paced, low-scoring games and that should suit Jeremiah Owusu-Koromoah owners nicely. Look for J.O.K. to be in the LB2 conversation every week.

EJ Speed, Colts (7% rostered), Frankie Luvu, Commanders (8% rostered), Demario Davis, Saints (10% rostered), Kenneth Murray, Titans (6% rostered), Jordyn Brooks, Dolphins (11% rostered).

Shallow League Options (16-25% rostered)

Robert Spillane, Raiders (19% rostered)

Spillane was a monster in Week 2 as the Raider upset the heavily favored Baltimore Ravens. He racked up 10 tackles and an interception as he kept the Raiders in this game long enough to steal a win away from Baltimore. Spillane is a truly elite performer in IDP formats and needs to be rostered everywhere. He has week-winning upside every week of the season and is a must-start if you can get a share of him.

Devin Lloyd, Jaguars (19% rostered), Ernest Jones, Rams (23% rostered), Tyrel Dodson, Seahawks (30% rostered), Ivan Pace, Vikings (28% rostered), Quay Walker, Packers (19% rostered).

Defensive Backs

Deep League Options (0-5% rostered)

Ja’Marcus Ingram, Bills (0% rostered)

Ingram is a relative unknown who came out of nowhere to be an IDP stud in Week 2. He was able to pick off the Tua Tagovailoa twice on Thursday Night and returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown. This was a week-winning performance by Ingram and is a sign of things to come and his upside if he can continue to earn significant playing time.

Christian Izien, Buccaneers (4% rostered), Paulson Adebo, Saints (4% rostered), Marlon Humphrey, Ravens (1% rostered).

Medium League Options (6-15% rostered)

Nick Cross, Colts (7% rostered)

Nick Cross racked up 15 tackles against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2 and that’s all you need to know. He has been an elite defensive back in both weeks of the 2024 NFL season and should continue to be a weekly must-start this season. Cross is still unknown and is only rostered in 7% of IDP leagues, so go get him while you can.

Kyle Dugger, Patriots (13% rostered), Jordan Whitehead, Buccaneers (11% rostered), Elijah Molden, Chargers (6% rostered).

Shallow League Options (16-25% rostered)

Joshua Metellus, Vikings (31% rostered)

Metellus has been solid in back-to-back weeks for a surprising Minnesota Vikings squad. In Week 2 against the defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers, he totaled seven tackles and added in one interception. With some of the defense talent that departed the Vikings roster during the offseason, Metellus has seen his usage grow into that of an indispensable IDP asset. Look for Metellus to produce at an elite level all season and watch his stock continue to rise.

Julian Love, Seahawks (47% rostered), Xavier McKinney, Packers (45% rostered), Marcus Jones, Patriots (37% rostered).
