Sit & Start (Week 4)

Welcome to Sit & Start (Week 4). This is where we highlight a few players at each position that we want to sit or start this week. We will avoid the obvious starts, and for the sits, we will avoid the obvious ones. This is a place to deal with the players who make tougher decisions. It’s important to mention that quarterbacks are about 1QB leagues. In a superflex league, every quarterback is relevant.

Anthony Richardson, Colts vs PIT (32)

Richardson has gotten off to a rocky start this season. After finishing as the QB4 in Week 1, he has been QB21 and QB31 since. He currently ranks as QB14 and has been making terrible decisions on the field regularly as of late. He gets a matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4 and that figures to be another tough spot for him to get back on track. The Steelers are the worst matchup for quarterbacks and are limiting the position to 9.5 fantasy points per game. The defense is tough and if Richardson can’t limit his poor decisions, they are going to eat him alive. This is shaping up to be the third straight week in which Richardson is a bust for fantasy managers.

Bo Nix, Broncos vs NYJ (31)

Matthew Stafford, Rams vs CHI (30)

Jared Goff, Lions vs SEA (29)

JK Dobbins, Chargers vs KC (29)

Dobbins has been one of the surprises of the NFL season to this point after starting with back-to-back top-5 fantasy finishes. He fell to RB38 in Week 3 and currently ranks as RB12 on the season. While Dobbins has been a great find, he faces a tough matchup in Week 4 with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are the third-worst matchup for opposing running backs and are holding the position to only 14.3 fantasy points per game. Dobbins is the workhorse in this backfield, but the Chiefs are likely to limit his effectiveness and will make him a risky play in Week 4.

Ken Walker, Seahawks vs DET (32)

Josh Jacobs, Packers vs MIN (27)

Carson Steele, Chiefs vs LAC (25)

Tyreek Hill, Dolphins vs TEN (30)

I get that this sounds batshit crazy but hear me out. Tyreek Hill was WR4 in Week 1 of the season but has finished as WR54 and WR57 in the past two games in which quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was either out or injured in. It remains unclear if Skylar Thompson is going to be the Dolphins quarterback in Week 4 or Tim Boyle, but what is certain is that they are not good enough to support any high-end fantasy assets. Last week, pretty much all of the Dolphin’s offensive players were disappointing for fantasy and this week is going to be no different. Not only will Hill have a backup quarterback throwing to him but he will face a Tennessee Titans pass defense that ranks as the third-worst matchup for the position and is holding receivers to 14.3 fantasy points per game. You may not be able to outright sit Hill, but you should lower your expectations.

Garrett Wilson, Jets vs DEN (32)

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions vs SEA (31)

Michael Pittman, Colts vs PIT (29)

Hunter Henry, Patriots vs SF (32)

Henry isn’t a must-start every week, but he has been a solid streaming option for the multitude of fantasy managers who are desperate at tight end. He currently ranks as TE8 on the season after a TE2 finish in Week 2 but this week faces the San Francisco 49ers who figure to give the Patriots offense fits. The 49ers are the worst matchup for opposing tight ends and are limiting the position to only 2.3 fantasy points per game. San Francisco figures to be in a bad mood after a tough divisional loss last week and will surely put a beating on New England this week. Henry has been a good streaming option, but that won’t be the case this week where a four-catch and 40-yard day is likely his best-case scenario. If you start Henry, you will have to pray for a garbage-time touchdown.

Cade Otton, Buccaneers vs PHI (30)

Dallas Goedert, Eagles vs TB (29)

Noah Fant, Seahawks vs DET (28)

Caleb Williams, Bears vs LAR (3)

Williams was awful in his first two NFL starts, finishing as QB31 and QB29 before finally showing signs of life with a QB14 finish in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts. He will look to build on a solid performance in a juicy matchup with the Los Angeles Rams who are allowing the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Los Angeles is allowing 21.4 fantasy points per game and between that and a wide array of offensive weapons, Williams should be able to secure his first top-12 finish of his young career.

Kyler Murray, Cardinals vs WSH (1)

Daniel Jones, Giants vs DAL (4)

Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars vs HOU (5)

Tony Pollard, Titans vs MIA (3)

Pollard was off to a silent but successful start through two weeks, finishing as RB12 and RB18. That all came to a screeching halt in Week 3 when he finished as RB48 in a dismal performance against the Green Bay Packers. In Week 4, he gets a chance to rebound in an optimal matchup with the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins rank as the third-best matchup for opposing running backs and are allowing 26.2 fantasy points per game. Pollard should find this matchup as a great situation to get back on track and is a great bet to finish as RB12 or higher this week.

Devin Singletary, Giants vs DAL (1)

Jerome Ford, Browns vs LV (2)

Zack Moss, Bengals vs CAR (5)

D.K. Metcalf, Seahawks vs DET (3)

Metcalf started incredibly slow in week 1 with a WR63 finish after being shadowed by Patrick Surtain of the Denver Broncos. He has put up far more favorable fantasy performances in better matchups since with a WR2 and WR12 finish against the Patriots and Dolphins respectively. This week, he looks to keep it going in a prime spot against a Detroit Lions secondary that has been terrible. The Lions rank as the third-best matchup for receivers and are allowing 35.9 fantasy points per game to the position and are sure to allow Metcalf a solid performance. Metcalf has WR1 overall upside in this matchup.

D.J. Moore, Bears vs LAR (2)

Chris Godwin, Buccaneers vs PHI (4)

George Pickens, Steelers vs IND (6)

Dalton Kincaid, Bills vs BAL (2)

Kincaid has steadily improved his production over the past three weeks going from a finish of TE37 to TE14, all the way up to TE5 in Week 3. He looks to keep his forward momentum going this week in a matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore ranks as the second-best matchup for opposing tight ends and has allowed 13.2 fantasy points per game to the position. Kincaid has the potential to be the TE1 overall in this matchup and could be a blessing for managers desperate to find a solid tight end.

Will Dissly, Chargers vs KC (1)

Cole Kmet, Bears vs LAR (4)

Kyle Pitts, Falcons vs NO (5)
