Welcome to the Exclusive Sneak Peek: Brock Bowers is a tight end out of Georgia. He is from Napa, CA. Bowers was a four-star prospect coming out of Napa High School.
Bowers committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in August of 2020. At that time he was ranked TE2 on 247sports.
His senior year in high school was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, that did not stop Bowers from making an immediate impact on the Bulldogs. In his true freshman season, he set records at the tight end position for Georgia. He finished with 56 receptions for 882 yards and 13 touchdowns. As a freshman, he took home the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year award. He also became an All-American First Team and the AP SEC Newcomer of the Year.
He only improved in his sophomore season by finishing with 63 receptions 942 yards and 7 touchdowns. More accolades would come. He was selected to the Associated Press & Coaches All-SEC First Team. Bowers was a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award and a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year.
In his junior season, he only played 10 games due to injury. However, he still led the team with 56 receptions for 714 yards and 6 receiving touchdowns. Throughout his collegiate career, he has shown signs of dominance. He is the consensus TE1.

Scouting Reports
Strengths
- Excellent combination of athleticism and size.
- Versatile athlete. He can line up anywhere on the field and be effective.
- Playmaker when the ball is in his hands. Led all TEs in YAC.
- Elite hands. Whether contested or wide-open he is sure to become any QB’s favorite target.
- His versatility comes from being an excellent route runner. He understands his routes and executes flawlessly.
- Has the strength and body control to match up with anybody.
- Great receiver. Good blocker. He is an all-around TE who will see the field often.
Weaknesses
- Separation. Although he has elite hands he may struggle to find separation against some of the league’s top safeties.
- Slightly smaller than your average NFL TE.
- He struggles at times against press coverage which could constrict his playmaking ability at the next level.
- He is an excellent route runner, but there can still be some improvements. Slight techniques that allow him to adjust on the dime to be where he needs to be for the catch.
Pre-Draft Analysis
Expected Draft Capital: Top 6 Overall
Ideal Landing Spot: New York Giants
Currently, the New York Giants have the 6th pick overall. If I am being honest 3 teams in the top 5 picks could use a game-changing tight end like Bowers on their team. The Washington Commanders have nobody behind aging tight end Logan Thomas. Keep Sam Howell at quarterback and get him a stud-tight end to pair with his wide receivers. The New England Patriots could use another tight end to pair with Hunter Henry. However, I think they should go with a wide receiver with this pick. The Los Angeles Chargers have been effective with Gerald Everett, but it is Brock Bowers. Many mocks have the Chargers with the 5th pick overall taking Bowers. One pick before the Giants. What if the Chargers take wide receiver Malik Nabers? Maybe after taking Quentin Johnston last season, they are hesitant to take a wide receiver in the first. Maybe.
That brings me to the Giants, assuming he is there at pick 6. They tried to bring in Darren Waller last season. He was good. He was also hurt. An alpha wide receiver is needed in New York. They do have the 39th pick overall (7th in the 2nd round). Maybe, just maybe, they grab Bowers, an elite weapon. Then with their 2nd pick, they can get a receiver that drops like Adonai Mitchell, Brian Thomas Jr, or Xavier Worthy. All receivers have shown flashes of excellence.
Bowers is undoubtedly the TE1 of this class and it is not even close. Even with an injured riddled season he still dominated when on the field. If he were a wide receiver he would likely be my WR3 at the very least WR5 of the 2024 class. To me, he is lock for the top 6 in this 2024 draft. If he goes any later then all teams that pass on him will regret it for years to come. He has the potential to be a hall-of-fame tight end.
