Welcome to IDP Sit & Start & Stash & Quit (Week 2). This is where we highlight a few players at each position that we are looking to sit or start this week. For the starts, we will be avoiding the obvious starts, and for the sits, we will be avoiding the obvious sits. This is a place to deal with the players who make tougher decisions. Start ‘Em- Defensive Linemen

Payne recorded only a single tackle in Week 1 after being hampered all week by a back injury. He looks to rebound in Week 2 in a prime matchup with the New York Giants who allow the most fantasy points to opposing defensive linemen. The Giants are a mess on offense and have a difficult time protecting Daniel Jones, this
Nnamdi Madubuike, Ravens vs LV (2)
Jermaine Johnson, Jets vs TEN (4)
Start ‘Em- Linebackers
Josh Hines-Allen, Commanders vs CLE (1)
Hines-Allen got off to a sluggish start and was able to record only two tackles in Week 1 against the Buccaneers as they were entirely outmatched in all facets of the game. This week they are likely to be outmatched again but the Cleveland Brown’s offense will not operate nearly as efficiently as the Buccaneers did. The struggling Commanders’ offense makes for many opportunities for Hines-Allen to produce for fantasy and he should rebound nicely in this matchup.
Eric Kendricks, Cowboys vs NO (3)
Terrel Bernard, Bills vs MIA (4)
Start ‘Em- Defensive Backs
Alohi Gilman, Chargers vs CAR (1)
Gilman has seen his production increase in each of his four seasons and got off to a decent start in Week 1 with four tackles against the Raiders. He had been battling a knee injury over the past few weeks and with him now healthy and ready to go he should begin ramping up his production once again. The Panthers were obliterated last week by the Saints and allowed the most fantasy points to opposing defensive backs making for an elite opportunity for Gilman to bounce back.
Jessie Bate, Falcons vs PHI (3)
DJ Reed, Jets vs TEN(4)
Sit ‘Em- Defensive Linemen

Paye got off to an excellent start in Week 1 against the Texans, registering 14 fantasy points on two sacks and one sack, but since then he has been battling a hamstring injury which is sure to hamper him and make him less explosive if he can suit up. Combine that with a matchup against the Packers who are giving up the fewest fantasy points to the position and this is a prime spot to leave Paye on your bench while he gets healthy.
Derrick Barnes, Lions vs TB (30)
Chauncey Golston, Cowboys vs NO (29)
Sit ‘Em- Linebackers
Devin White, Eagles vs ATL (32)
White was unable to play against the Packers in Week 1 and has continued to battle an ankle injury all week. It appears as if he is going to attempt to play in Week 2, but even if he can play he gets a matchup with the Atlanta Falcons who allow the least fantasy points to opposing linebackers. You may be better off if White sits out one more game and takes the temptation to start him out of your hands entirely.
Frankie Luvu, Commanders vs NYG (31)
Will Anderson, Texans vs CHI (29)
Sit ‘Em- Defensive Backs
Jordan Fuller, Panthers vs LAC (32)
Fuller was excellent in Week 1 against the Saints racking up 11 fantasy points as they were thrashed by the New Orleans Saints. He has been absent from practice this week for personal reasons and may not be available this week. If he is in the lineup this week against the Chargers he gets the worst matchup for opposing defensive backs as the Chargers completely shut down the Raiders IDP players in Week 1. Fuller has tons of talent but this is a week that is best to avoid him.
Mike Hilton, Bengals vs KC (31)
Nick Cross, Colts vs GB (29)
Stash ‘Em- Defensive Linemen

Latu played in 39% of Colt’s defensive snaps in his NFL debut but didn’t record a stat unless your league counts QB pressures, he recorded two of them. It may take some time before Latu becomes a full-time player and begins to put up fantasy points, but in the meantime, you simply have to hold him until he breaks out. He was the first defensive player off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft and it’s only a matter of time before he is a must-start player.
Jordan Davis, Eagles
Sebastian Joseph-Day, Titans
Stash ‘Em- Linebackers
Jeremy Chinn, Commanders
Chinn finds himself with a new team for the first time in his NFL career a year after battling through injuries. His first game with the Washington Commanders saw him record three tackles and it’s only a matter of time before the one-time fantasy stud regains his former level of production. The Commanders figure to be one of the worst defenses in the NFL, so Chinn is certain to get ample opportunity to produce. Hold onto Chinn and wait for him to meet his full potential.
Edgerrin Cooper, Packers
Dallas Turner, Vikings
Stash ‘Em- Defensive Backs

Another highly drafted rookie, Nate Wiggins is a must-stash in IDP formats. The Baltimore Ravens have a proven track record of developing and producing elite-level defensive players and Wiggins has the potential to be the next in that long tradition. He recorded only two tackles in his NFL debut but is a work in progress that is going to be a household name shortly.
Kamren Kinchens, Rams
Kamari Lassiter, Texans
Quit ‘Em- Defensive Linemen
Logan Hall, Buccaneers
Hall enters only his third NFL season but he has failed to improve on his production in any way. He is currently dealing with a foot injury and between that and the lack of any real upside I am willing to cut loose from Hall and move on for players with more potential.
Joshua Uche, Patriots
Joseph Ossai, Bengals
Quit ‘Em- Linebackers
Malcolm Rodriguez, Lions
Rodriguez enters his third season with the Detroit Lions and has seen his fantasy production trend down each season so far. In Week 1 against the Rams he recorded three tackles but after only playing on 18% of the team’s defensive snaps, it’s going to be nearly impossible for him to put up any consistent level of fantasy-worthy production.
Azeez Ojulari, Giants
Krys Barnes, Cardinals
Quit ‘Em- Defensive Backs
Jakorian Bennett, Raiders
Bennett returned to the Raiders lineup last week but was only able to record three fantasy points. He struggled to produce as a rookie and despite high hopes for him, he appears to be entering fantasy-irrelevant territory. He did play 53% of the Raiders defensive snaps in Week 1, but failed to do anything of substance despite his playing time.
Damontae Kazee, Steelers
Will Harris, Saints
