Draft Capital & Landing Spot

Draft Capital- Undrafted Free Agent Signing

  • The 49ers are known for playing through large amounts of running back injuries, so it’s no surprise they are stockpiling undrafted running backs this offseason.
  • Schrader is yet another rookie running back on this already running back-heavy roster, but much like the rest of the backs, they have no chance of seeing the field while Christian McCaffrey can play.

Landing Spot- San Francisco 49ers

  • The 49ers are the ultimate handcuff spot. Their large collection of running backs has no value unless CMC gets hurt again.
  • If McCaffrey stays healthy, this running back room useless, and even if he does get hurt, it’s nearly impossible to predict which 49ers running back will be useful each week. It would just be a revolving door.

Fantasy Impact

There is no fantasy value here unless you are looking to stash CMCs potential injury handcuff.

If McCaffrey goes down and he wins the job, he could be a league-winner. There are far too many “ifs” he needs to clear to be fantasy-relevant. Stash him for now as a desperation handcuff.
