2024 Exclusive Sneak Peek: Dylan Laube

2024 Exclusive Sneak Peek: Dylan Laube, RB New Hampshire

Welcome to the Exclusive Sneak Peek: Dylan Laube, a running back out of Westhampton Beach High School in Westhampton, New York. In high school, Laube recorded over 7600 combined rushing and receiving yards and 120 total touchdowns. However, even with this impressive production, he was only offered one scholarship by the University of New Hampshire.

Laube attended New Hampshire and continued his onslaught of lesser competition. In his final two collegiate seasons, Laube posted 1920 rushing yards, 667 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. He also led all of the FCS in all-purpose yards in both seasons.

Laube represents a true unknown, but he’s certainly earned his invites to the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine due to his stellar play and dominance at every level. If he can make the jump, he could be a true weapon in the receiving game for an NFL team.

Pre-Draft Analysis

Expected Draft Capital: Late 5th/Early 6th Round

Ideal Landing Spot: New York Giants

Saquon Barkley is almost assuredly leaving the Giants this offseason. And with his absence comes the presence of an incredible opportunity in New York’s backfield. We know that the current backs on the Giants roster are unproven. And, aside from an aging Matt Breida, there isn’t a veteran left to command the respect of the coaching staff. Enter Laube and his pass-catching skill set. Plus, he’s a hometown guy, having grown up in Long Island. It makes too much sense.

From a fantasy perspective, it’s also a great place for Laube to land and learn. He can take notes from a decent pass-catching back in Breida while also getting an immediate chance to run in Brian Daboll’s system. With a quarterback who is capable of checking down in Daniel Jones and no real target threats in the offense just yet, Laube could surprise and thrive on Sundays.

Though Laube seems like a long shot to make a mark in the NFL, the Giants can offer him the best chance. And while the team isn’t expected to make a playoff run, he’ll have time to grow without the pressure of a win-now mentality.
