Welcome to the Exclusive Sneak Peek: Isaac Guerendo, a Running Back from Clayton, IL who attended Avon High School. Guerendo was a 3-star recruit and attended Louisville.
Over the first three seasons of Guerendo’s collegiate career, he played only 11 games for the University of Wisconsin. During that span, he rushed for 197 yards and one touchdown while also catching 3 passes for 8 yards.
His best season at Wisconsin came in his final season there in 2022. He appeared in 12 games and rushed for 385 yards and 5 touchdowns. In addition, he chipped in with 17 catches for 115 yards and 1 receiving touchdown.
Guerendo transferred to Louisville for the 2023 season where he was the full-time starter and appeared in 14 games. He rushed for 810 yards and 11 touchdowns, both career highs. He also added in 22 receptions for 234 yards, also career highs.
It’s interesting to note that the unknown Guerendo exploded onto the season at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine where he posted the fastest 40-yard Dash time of all the running backs.

Strengths
- Possesses explosive upfield acceleration and burst.
- Has great suddenness and bursts at the line of scrimmage.
- Is the best in class as far as speed goes as evidenced by his NFL Combine 40-yard Dash.
- Is an excellent blocker on the outside portion of the field.
Weaknesses
- He is too bulky to squeeze through tight gaps.
- Lacks elusiveness due to his bulky frame and will struggle to avoid tackles.

Ideal Landing Spot: Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals have a versatile veteran in James Conner that they hope to ride for one more season. Conner’s best years are clearly behind him and Guerendo would make for an explosive complementary option in the Arizona backfield.
even after his 40-yard Dash results, it’s likely he will be available late into Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft and he could be the Cardinal’s version of DeVon Achane that they could use to stretch the field and break off long runs.
