Welcome to the Exclusive Sneak Peek: Kamari Lassiter, a safety out of Georgia. He is from Savannah, Georgia, and was a 4-star recruit from American Christian Academy.
Lassiter was a highly touted four-sport athlete coming out of high school before joining the Bulldogs for his freshman season in 2021. His true freshman season was spent primarily on special teams and his contributions were minimal before being promoted to a full-time defender for his sophomore season.
In 2022 as a sophomore he again appeared in 15 games and hit the ground running. He racked up 30 solo tackles, 8 assists, 5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and 4 passes defended in his first season as a full-time defender.
He produced solidly again as a junior in 2023 where he appeared in 14 games. During that time he recorded 21 solo tackles, 16 assists, 3.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and 8 passes defended and demonstrated an ability to be a reliable member of the secondary.

- His instincts are excellent in coverage and he possesses great ball skills.
- Adds special teams ability that could keep him in the lineup when buried on the depth chart.
Weaknesses
- Is penalty prone and often holds when he is overmatched.
- He is a physical defender but lacks the size and weight to match up against bigger players and is often overpowered.
- Tends to lose his assignments and wanders. Would benefit from learning the intricacies of the game from a veteran.
- Is frequently overpowered by bigger players and will struggle to win in contested catch situations.

Ideal Landing Spot: Detroit Lions
Yet another defensive back that is projected to go in the late first round or early second round and again, I am hoping for a Detroit Lions landing spot.
The Lions are in desperate need of a defensive back, more notably a cornerback and Lassiter is an excellent option should they choose to go that route.
This could also be a situation where the Lions choose to take an edge rusher in the first round and trade up in the second round to draft a corner and in that situation, he could be an even better value if they can manage to snag him in the early-to-mid second round.
