Welcome to the Exclusive Sneak Peek: Michael Pratt, a Quarterback from Tulane. He is from Boca Raton, Florida, and was a 3-star recruit out of Deerfield Beach High School.
In 2020, as a freshman, he appeared in 10 games for Tulane. That freshman season was nothing special as he learned the ropes. He recorded 1,806 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions with a completion percentage of 55.1%. Not a great start, but one that showed he had promise.
His 2021 season as a sophomore saw him appear in 12 games where his stats saw a slight uptick. He passed for 2,390 yards with 21 touchdowns and 8 interceptions and his completion percentage rose slightly to 57.8%. Again, not a terrible season, but not one to write home about either.
As a junior in 2022, he appeared in 13 games and produced what would be the best year of his collegiate career. He threw for 3,009 yards and 27 touchdowns, both career highs, while only throwing 3 interceptions, a career low. His completion percentage also saw a noticeable jump to 63.6%. This was an encouraging step forward for Pratt and he showed the ability to produce while maximizing his accuracy and minimizing turnovers.
His final collegiate season was as a senior in 2023. He appeared in 11 games and saw mixed results. While his passing yards and touchdowns took a step back and reverted to similar totals to his sophomore season, he managed to maintain a low interception rate and high completion rate. The key to this season was that while he didn’t produce as well as in his junior season, he prioritized ball security.

- Has good velocity and accuracy on short to intermediate throws.
- He uses his eyes effectively to bait and manipulate opposing defenses.
- Quickly realizes gaps and opportunities in coverage and takes shots downfield when they are present.
- Possesses great decision-making and ball security. His low turnover rate is a plus.
Weaknesses
- He lacks the elite arm strength and velocity needed to consistently hit the deep ball.
- Has a long and unsteady throwing motion that is time-consuming and causes inaccuracies. Mechanics will need work.
- He tends to rush throws in the red zone and is more likely to turn the ball over.
- Possesses a limited burst and athleticism which gives him a lack of rushing upside.

Pratt is likely to be a developmental quarterback who would benefit from seasoning behind a knowledgeable veteran, who is better to learn from than Aaron Rodgers.
The clock is ticking on Rodgers and 2024 may be his final season. The Jets have a young team with lots of upside and potential and if Pratt could learn enough from Rodgers to become a starting quarterback in the NFL he could be a great value in the third round.
