Welcome to the Rookie Profile: Blake Corum, a Running Back from Michigan. He is from Marshall, Virginia, and was a 4-star recruit out of St. Frances Academy.
In 2020 as a freshman, he appeared in 6 games where he recorded 77 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns while adding in 5 receptions for 73 yards in a COVID-19-shortened season.
His 2021 season as a sophomore saw him appear in 12 games where he saw a significant boost in production. He rushed for 952 yards and 11 touchdowns while also chipping in 24 receptions for 141 yards and 1 touchdown, the best receiving season of his collegiate career.
As a junior in 2022, he appeared in 12 games and produced his high rushing total with 1,463 yards while scoring 18 rushing touchdowns. Once again, he chipped in a minimal amount in the passing game with 11 receptions for 80 yards and 1 touchdown. This spectacular season came to a premature end as he went down to a season-ending injury in the regular season finale against Ohio State.
His final collegiate season was as a senior in 2023. He appeared in 12 games and produced another fine stat line. While his rushing yards dipped slightly to 1,245 yards, his rushing touchdown total exploded to a whopping 27 on route to leading Michigan to a 2024 National Championship. He again, added in a pedestrian 16 receptions for 117 yards and 1 touchdown through the air.

Draft Capital & Landing Spot
Draft Capital- Round 3 Pick 19
- A day-two selection in the third round is a solid investment by the Rams but is curious considering how good Kyren Williams was in 2023. This draft capital could indicate that the Rams believe in Corum and believe they may need a complimentary piece to go with Kyren Williams, but nothing is certain.
- Ordinarily, I would have said that this draft capital is a win, but it falls more in the confusing category for now. I’m not sure why the Rams made this pick.
Landing Spot- Los Angeles Rams
- This situation feels similar to the Seattle Seahawks last year with the only difference being that Ken Walker had significantly more draft capital than that of Kyren Williams.
- As I’ve said already, this landing spot seems eerily similar to the 2023 Seattle Seahawks, except with slightly less capital on the Kyren Williams side.
- This selection could simply be a depth pick, or it could be an indication that the Rams don’t believe that Williams is cut out to be a bell-cow. Either way, this is a risky situation for both Williams and Corum.

Fantasy Impact
This is an interesting situation to analyze for Corum. Day two draft capital is great given the current running back landscape, but being buried behind the 2023 league-winner Kyren Williams is less than ideal.
Having said that, Kyren Williams was a day-three pick and the Rams have invested very little in him so it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to see Corum carve out a significant workload. Overall, this isn’t a great turn of events for the rookie. It drops him out of the top tier of rookie running backs, which at this point is just Jonathon Brooks. It now leaves him in a murky group of rookies with a difficult pathway to relevance.
