Rookie Profile: Brock Bowers, Tight End, Las Vegas Raiders
Welcome to the Rookie Profile for Brock Bowers a tight end out of Georgia. He is from Napa, CA. Bowers was a four-star prospect coming out of Napa High School.
Bowers committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in August of 2020. At that time he was ranked TE2 on 247sports.
His senior year in high school was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, that did not stop Bowers from immediately impacting the Bulldogs. In his true freshman season, he set records at the tight end position for Georgia. He finished with 56 receptions for 882 yards and 13 touchdowns. He took home the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year award as a freshman. He also became an All-American First Team and the AP SEC Newcomer of the Year.
He only improved in his sophomore season by finishing with 63 receptions 942 yards and 7 touchdowns. More accolades would come. He was selected to the Associated Press & Coaches All-SEC First Team. Bowers was a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award and a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year.
In his junior season, he only played 10 games due to injury. However, he still led the team with 56 receptions for 714 yards and 6 receiving touchdowns. Throughout his collegiate career, he has shown signs of dominance. He is the consensus TE1.

- Before the NFL Draft, many thought Brock Bowers would be a top-10 pick. But instead, we saw 5 quarterbacks, 3 wide receivers, and 2 offensive linemen go. However, Bowers was a top 15 pick, and quite possibly a steal at pick 13. Many used the word “generational” when describing the type of talent that Brock Bowers has. The Las Vegas Raiders invested high second-round capital in tight end Michael Mayer in the 2023 draft. This year they followed up by getting another tight end to add to their arsenal.

- As soon as the Raiders made the selection people around the world dropped their jaws in shock. Now all off-season we will be discussing the many ways the Raiders can use Brock Bowers. Yes, he was drafted as a tight end. Yes, they drafted Michael Mayer last year. At the time Mayer was considered the TE1 of the class. Insert Sam LaPorta saying, “Hold my beer!” The Raiders may run more two tight end sets this season. However, what is more likely is that they use Bowers in the slot while having Mayer line up at tight end. Bowers is a versatile athlete who showcased his ability to line up anywhere on the field while at Georgia. Time will tell how exactly the Raiders plan to use their newest weapon in their offense.

Right now people, including myself, are scratching their heads with uncertainties. What do we do with Brock Bowers? Will he be the starting tight end? Will he be lined up as a slot wide receiver? Will the Raiders run two tight-end sets? We will not have the answer to many questions until probably the final week of pre-season. However, one thing is certain. Brock Bowers is a unique talent. An asset to any team that can make an impact in multiple ways. Brock Bowers may break the fantasy community before the season begins by being both a tight end and wide receiver. This would mean that one can line up Bowers in their wide receiver position while also having somebody like Travis Kelce in their tight end position. That would be a move that would skyrocket Bowers’ value becoming a true versatile weapon for our fantasy teams.
