Draft Capital & Landing Spot

Draft Capital- Round 1 Pick 21

  • Chop Robinson was an elite defensive line prospect and received the draft capital to prove it. If it weren’t for a historic run on offensive weapons, he would have likely pushed his way into the top 10.
  • Robinson is a big, strong, elite-level prospect who projects to be the edge rusher of the future in Miami. He may not get a chance to start right away but he will get to learn alongside one of the best in Bradley Chubb. This is pretty close to best best-case scenario as far as draft capital is concerned for Robinson.

Landing Spot- Miami Dolphins

  • Miami as a landing spot is not as cut and dry. The Dolphins have lost some talent on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, but there is still plenty left in front of him. He will have an excellent chance to learn and develop into one of the league’s elite edge rushers, but it could be some time before he I able to win a sizeable role.
  • Robinson has loads of talent though, so when he does crack the lineup as a full-time player, he will be an instant must-start IDP asset. For now, consider him a rotational edge rusher with the potential to win the starting job at any moment.

Fantasy Impact

As I said above, Robinson is likely going to start as a rotational edge rusher and will earn his way into a starting role sooner rather than later. For the time being he is a guaranteed first round IDP rookie pick, but don’t expect an immediate return on your investment.

It’s entirely possible that he could win a starting role early on in the season, but this pick will be the selection of a potential long-term, elite player and not the pick of a win-now team.

Robinson will be impossible to get off the field once he gets onto it, but be patient.
