Measurables

Draft Capital & Landing Spot

Draft Capital- Round 5 Pick 155

  • For a legacy pick, he certainly fell much further than anyone could have expected. Sliding to day three is not a major vote of confidence for the linebacker, but it gives him a shot to eventually earn his way into a larger role.
  • Day three draft capital is never a great sign, especially with his high-profile father, but it was enough to keep him on the IDP radar for a little while and warrant a late-round IDP rookie draft pick.

Landing Spot- Philadelphia Eagles

  • The landing spot could be seen as a mixed bag. On one hand, he lands on a roster where he will have to battle his way up the depth chart and has little draft capital invested which is not a great sign. On the other hand, he goes to the same team that his father played for which essentially guarantees he will be given every opportunity to earn a role.
  • This draft capital and landing spot would indicate that he is likely more of a long-term project than an immediate fantasy stud, but he is someone worth monitoring.

Fantasy Impact

An inside linebacker exhibits relentless determination and an instinct for the game that translates into impressive statistics. Trotter, with his NFL heritage, demonstrates consistent performance, robust play strength, and a readiness to engage in tough plays. His rapid response to plays and remarkable body control and agility allow him to navigate through players and reach the ball effectively.

Despite not being particularly large or long, his high football intelligence compensates. He possesses sufficient pursuit speed, excellent agility in confined spaces, and a natural ability to pressure the quarterback as a blitzer. Trotter approaches the ball with clarity and efficiency, positioning him as a potential long-term starter in the league.

Trotter may have a difficult time cracking the lineup consistently as a rookie, but with his pedigree, production is all but guaranteed at some point in his future.
