Draft Capital & Landing Spot

Draft Capital- Round 1 Pick 30

  • Despite the early run on quarterbacks leading to many high-level defensive players sliding out of the first round, Wiggins was able to secure himself a first-round selection. It’s interesting to see that Wiggins went ahead of Cooper DeJean who was widely regarded as the better cornerback, but this can only serve as a vote of confidence that the Ravens believed in him enough to select him over some of the other talented corners left on the board. First-round draft capital is always massive as it allows a player at least their rookie contract to prove themself, so Wiggins will have plenty of chances to earn a large role on the Ravens’ defense.

Landing Spot- Baltimore Ravens

  • The Ravens are a team that has a solid reputation for drafting and developing elite defensive talents and this is yet another shining example of a potential Pro Bowl caliber player being added to their roster. Wiggins has elite potential as a ball-hawk and just needs some coaching to further develop and round out his game to see him become one of the most dominant defensive backs in the league.

Fantasy Impact

First-round draft capital and a selection by Raven’s team known for developing defensive players is a dream scenario. This should not only guarantee that he has every opportunity to become an elite producer but it puts him in a situation that should easily maximize his skillset. Wiggins will find himself as a first-round IDP Rookie pick and will be a reliable and consistent producer for many years to come. This is a sneaky, solid pick and someone to target in IDP Rookie drafts.
