SFB14 Mock Draft ADP

Welcome to SFB14 Mock Draft ADP. I have scoured YouTube for every Scott Fish Bowl 14 Mock Draft and compiled them to form a Pre-Draft ADP as we begin live drafts. These mock drafts were hosted by channels such as The Worst Sports Show, Optimus Fantasy Football, Fantasy in Frames, Get Right Fantasy Network, and Club Fantasy FFL. While it is intended to be a great look into the potential ADP of each player in SFB14, it is not a definitive list and is a limited sample size, so use it as a guide and not a bible.

The table below is a list of the mock drafts I reviewed. The ADP column is the players’ Average Draft Position based on all eight mock drafts. The final two columns on the right indicate the earliest and latest that the player was selected in the mock drafts. Not all of the eight mock drafts were the same length. The mock drafts ranged from 11 rounds up to 22 rounds. Any blank column indicates the player was not drafted in that mock draft.

Upside Receivers

Jayden Reed, WR (GB): Why is Jayden Reed being drafted behind Cooper Kupp, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, Dallas Goedert, and even David Montgomery? I guess people are still hopeful about the return of Christian Watson, but even so, Watson will be nothing more than a stretch-the-field type of receiver. If Watson comes back healthy I think he will hurt the upside of Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks more than Reed. Last season Reed established great chemistry with quarterback Jordan Love, and I believe we see that grow in 2024.

During his final four games played in the 2023 season, Reed caught 80% of his targets averaging 70 yards per game. If he continues that trajectory into the 2024 season then he could see just over 100 receptions for just below 1,200 receiving yards. Plus, with this scoring format, one can add in the first downs he will get and touchdowns. All those numbers point me to an easy player to target in round 8 of drafts. SC Romero @thepprshow

Rashid Shaheed, WR (NO): Under the new scoring format, Rashid Shaheed was the 5th highest-scoring WR in 2023 and is continually falling past the 6th round of drafts, which does not make sense. With the addition of return yards to scoring this season, Rashid Shaheed should be going multiple rounds earlier than he is. Shaheed averaged 20 ppg last year in a format that does not favor wide receiver scoring, so getting a player as valuable as Shaheed in the 80’s is an absolute smash pick. Reach for Shaheed this year and reap the rewards. Jesse Moeller @jmoeller05

Sneaky Steelers

Najee Harris, RB (PIT): Here we go again with Najee Harris. Fading a young, bell-cow back whose team has done nothing this offseason but prove they’re going to hand the ball to him 250+ times per game. Is run-obsessed new Offensive Coordinator? Check. Upgraded offensive line? Check. Improved QB room to help move the offense? Check. Not committing to Harris long-term? Also, check. Everything is lining up for the Steelers to overload Harris this season. If he can carry the mail and stay on the field this season, he’ll far exceed his 85th overall ranking in SFB, which awards 1 point for every 4 carries and 1 point for every 2 first downs to RBs. Jeremy Shulman @ff_rebel

George Pickens, WR (PIT): Pretty much every usable receiver on the Pittsburgh Steelers has moved onto greener pastures. That leaves sophomore receiver George Pickens as the last receiver standing. Pickens has never projected to be a high-volume option so it remains to be seen if he can step up and be the WR1 on this squad. My beef with Pickens has always been that he had more value as a human highlight reel than he did as an elite fantasy option, but he demonstrated a massive upside in the games without Diontae Johnson in the past so it’s entirely possible he could be in store for a massive season. At 77th overall, he is going behind sketchy tight ends and committee running backs. He may be the cheapest potential stud on the board and his risk is worth his potential reward. Beware of Veteran Studs

Jonathan Taylor, RB (IND): Taylor is going as RB5 off the board ahead of players like Dalton Kincaid, Kyle Pitts, and even Travis Etienne. I say this because although Taylor is a great running back we have not seen Anthony Richardson and him on the field at the same time. Yes, Taylor is the clear-cut RB1 for the team, but Richardson provides upside with his rushing ability. In fact, in 3 games without Taylor, Richardson had 4 rushing touchdowns on only 23 rushing attempts.

Richardson might not take many carries away from Taylor, but he might take away touchdowns from him. If we are drafting him this early I think we are banking on him getting over 200 carriers and at least 1,000 yards. This is a feat he has not done since 2021. I would much rather target Kincaid or Pitts in a tight-end premium format, and then get Etienne a round later because I know Etienne will also be featured in the passing game. SC Romero @thepprshow

Stefon Diggs, WR (HOU): As much as it pains me to do so, I have to fade WRs with SFB14 scoring. With no points for first downs and the bonuses going to RBs and TEs, WRs will have to come later for me. It’s why I’m fading Stefon Diggs as the 64th overall player of the board. Houston’s offense is great and CJ Stroud has proven he can elevate his wide receivers. But with a healthy Nico Collins and Tank Dell, Diggs has talented competition for targets who both already have a rapport with the second-year QB. I don’t mind Diggs this year, but I won’t be taking him in the 5th round in any format this season. Jeremy Shulman @ff_rebel

Faux Bell Cow

Zamir White, RB (LV): What are we doing here, folks? It’s a small sample size trap season, and Zamir White managers are the bait. We are using the four games from last year where Josh Jacobs was injured and projecting them out for the 2024 season, which reminds me an awfully lot of what managers were doing when Mike Davis took over for an injured Chrisitan McCaffrey and wound up a top 50 pick the following season based on the logic of who else was going to get touches.

I don’t see White being able to secure the passing down role in Vegas, which means he needs to be uber-efficient on his touches on the ground to pay off that ADP; the problem is the offense is being led by Gardner Minshew and Aiden O’Connell, two below average quarterbacks. Zamir White is a hard pass at ADP and a player I’m avoiding overall this season.

Injured Concerns

TJ Hockenson, TE (MIN): Hockenson is recovering from an ACL injury that he sustained in Week 16 of the 2023 NFL season and there is currently no timetable for his return to the lineup. Despite this, Hockenson is going 84th overall. Even with the inflated tight end premium scoring in SFB14, it’s still a redraft league, and drafting a player who will likely miss half the season with a top-100 pick is too rich for my blood. Add in the fact that you are going to have to invest significant draft capital in another tight end for the first half of the season and you are better served to just pay up for a tight end who can give you a full season. I’m out on TJ Hockenson at his current cost. Aaron St. Denis @FFMadScientist
